Terug van weggeweest

So this is it.... I'm back in Amersfoort!!!!!!


After backpacking for exactly 1 year I came home in one piece on tuesdaymorning.
After saying goodbye to Sydney and Australia I flew to Singapore. I arrived pretty late in the evening and that's why I allready booked a hostel ahead, because I didn't want to spend the night finding a bed.
So after a busdrive to the city I came to the hostel Hangout @ Mount Emily. Cost a little bit more than the other hostels, but it is nice, clean and quiet.
Singapore is an interesting city, very clean and modern. Is not a place where I would spend a lot of time again. Not that it's not a nice place, but my greatest hobby aint shopping, so than there is not much left to do...........

Still there are some nice places to visit, if you are going to Singapore one day, visit Little India and Chinatown. There you experience if you are in India or China itself.
Singapore was suppost to be cheap but that has changed over the years. Still the food and public transport is very cheap. But electronics and other stuff is pretty much the same price over there (or maybe you have to look really hard.....)
After spending 2 days in this hot and humid city it was time to go on my final trip back home, but this wasn't without some little problems:

My flight out of Singapore would be 23:05. I came to the airport allready at 20:00. There I looked at the departure-screens and couldn't find my flight. I thought maybe I'm a bit early and it will come up later. And there it was, 5 minutes later my flight was on the screen, telling me that the flight was re-sceduled for the next day in the afternoon
I thought, great now I have to go back and find a place to sleep again. But than I saw the desk of Qantas and asked then about my flight. With some luck they could palce me on an other plane that would leave at 22:55. So I was very happy not to wait a whole day

After all the passangers were in the plane, the captain told us that we couldn't fly for at least an hour.
Something about permission to fly over Afganistan or something..... I couldn't make up every word.
So after waiting about 1,5 hour, we flew to London and the rest of the flight was ok (the only thing is that i couldn't sleep, but that's normal for me on a plane....)

After a night without sleep, I still felt pretty energetic. And I had to be energetic too, because I only had a short amount of time to catch my flight to Amsterdam. So when I heard the final call for boarding I started running to the gate and was lucky to go on board.

So my family was lucky I came on time at Schiphol, only my backpack didn't make it on time. So that came on the next flight. I was lucky that flight was only 30 minutes away and I didn't had to wait too long.
It was great to see my parents and brother again They made a special banner for me to welcome me home, that was cool

So now it is time to sort my photo's and video's out, so you can all have a look how it was.
